No Law Against The Spirit.

The bible is clear that there is no law against the spirit.  In the book of Galatians, the bible teaches us what exactly constitutes walking in the spirit, and what constitutes walking in the flesh.  After the instruction on how one walks in the spirit, this passages tells us that there is no law against the spirit.  Therefore, we see that when one walks after the spirit and not after the flesh, he is keeping the commandments of God.  We are no longer under the law of Moses, but we remain under law to Christ, the law of the spirit of life.  It is the law of the spirit of life in Christ that the believer is to obey in order to remain in Christ.  When we walk in the spirit, the bible is clear that we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

In previous posts, I have referenced the scripture in the book of 1rst John that states that the love of God is to keep his commandments and his commandments are not grievous.  This passage is not speaking of keeping the law of Moses, but the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus.  Galatians chapter 5 teaches us the law of the spirit.  This chapter teaches us that those who walk in adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, and such the like are walking after the flesh, and not after the spirit.  Those who do such things have no inheritance in the kingdom of God, and they remain under the curse of the law.   However, if we refrain ourselves from such things, and walk in love, joy, peace, gentleness, meekness, faith, temperance, and the like, we make our calling and election sure and are walking after the spirit.  For those who walk after the spirit, against such there is no Law.

Believers are not in bondage to keep the law of Moses, but we must obey the law of the spirit of life in Christ, otherwise, we cannot be sure of our calling and election.

What Is The Gospel Of Jesus Christ?

The bible teaches us that those who believe and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ will be saved and will inherit eternal life.  So, what exactly is the gospel of Jesus Christ?  The gospel of Jesus Christ is the truth that Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, was born of the spirit of God who came upon a woman by the name of Mary and she being a virgin was found with child, Jesus Christ himself.  This Jesus, the only begotten son of God, took the punishment of the sin of the whole world past, present, and future upon himself by dying on the cross at Calvary.  On the third day, God the Father raised this same Jesus from the dead.  All who believe this truth shall be saved.

The bible teaches us that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved.  How can we call upon one in whom we haven’t believed?  How can one believe except they have heard?  How can they hear without a preacher?  Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  However, we must be careful to not be hearers of the word only, but doers of the work.  For not a hearer is justified before God, but a doer of the law.  Jesus fulfilled the law of God, and the bible teaches us that we who believe in him shall be as he was in this world.  For as he was, so shall we be in this world.  Therefore, the commandments of God cannot be separated from faith that is in Jesus Christ.  All who believe in Jesus with the heart will keep the commandments of God.  There are many who profess to know him, but the bible teaches us that they deny him with abominable works.

There are many who profess to be Christians, or believers in Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, but if they do not obey the commandments of God, they remain under the curse of the law.  For the bible teaches us that we who are born of God are born of love, or charity.  The bible also teaches us that the love of God is to keep his commandments without these commandments being grievous.

Therefore, in order for one to truly be saved, they will believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and keep the commandment of God.  The bible is clear that faith without works is dead being alone.  The bible goes on to say, show me your faith without works and I will show you my faith by my works.  We cannot show that we have faith without obeying the commandments of God.  For we must not only believe in Christ with our mind, but we must put on Christ, being a new creature free from sin.

The true believers in Christ will not commit adultery, they will not steal, they will not lie, they will not commit fornication, they will not kill, they will break none of the commandments of God.  For the bible tells us that he who is born of God doth not commit sin, and he cannot sin for the seed of God remains in him who believes.  Peter teaches us that we can only make our calling and election sure through charity.  Charity is love, and we know that love is the keeping of the commandments of God, and the commandments are not grievous.

There are many who remain in doubt, they do not believe it is possible for one to walk without sin.  This is because they strive not to sin by their own power.  Those who believe in Jesus with the whole heart will receive the spirit of God.  The spirit of God comes to dwell in the believer.  This is called being “born again”, or being born of the spirit of God.  The bible tells us as many as receive him, the same receive the “power” to become the sons of God.  Therefore, they receive power to sin no more.  Without the spirit of God, man who remains in the flesh cannot cease from sin.  Ceasing from sin requires the power of the spirit, which only comes through true faith in Jesus Christ.  Think about it, why would the bible tells us to arm ourselves with the mind of Christ and to cease from sin if this was not possible?  The bible commands us to cease from sin, and tells us that all things are possible with God.  Those who do not believe it is possible to live in this world free from sin and it’s dominion remain in unbelief.  They obviously do not believe the bible that clearly tells us that all things are possible with God, even a sinless life.  After all, Jesus said as he was in this world, we shall be.  Jesus was sinless, therefore, we are to be sinless as well.

Following Jesus is impossible in the power of one’s own flesh.  We must receive the spirit of God before we can cease from sin.  While there are many who profess to know God, we can now clearly see that not all who profess to know him, actually do know him.  The bible is clear that not everyone who says Lord, Lord shall be saved, only those who do the will of the Father.  What is the will of the Father?  The will of God is for us to keep his commandments, to love one another as we love ourselves, and love works no ill will to his neighbor.

Please do not get angry, this is sound teaching from the word of God.  Everything said here is backed by the word of God.  Sometimes the truth hurts, but faithful are the wounds of a friend.  I wish only to be a friend to all.  There is a famine in the land today, a famine for the hearing of the words of God.  This teaching may not be wide-spread, but it is truth.  God bless.

The Gospel Of Jesus Christ And The Law.

There are many teaching today that the gospel of Jesus Christ has done away with the law.  However, this is not what the bible teaches.  Jesus tells us in the bible that he did not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it.  He went on to say that one tittle or one jot would not pass from the law until all be fulfilled.  Therefore, the law of God stands in effect today.

God never intended for his commandments to be broken, nor does he allow sin today without consequence.  The bible teaches us that sin is the transgression of the law.  Therefore, those who break the law of God are sinning.  The bible is clear that the believer is not to practise sin.  1 John tells us that he who is born of God doth not commit sin, for his seed remains in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God.  The book of Peter teaches us to have charity in order to make our calling and election sure.  Therefore, if we have not charity, we cannot be sure of our calling and election.  Also, charity is the fulfilling of the law.  1 John also tells us, this is the love of God, or charity, that we keep Gods commands and his commands are not greivous.

There are many teachers who teach otherwise, however, the bible tells us that he who despises, despises not man, but God who has given us of his holy spirit.  God has not called us to uncleanness, but holiness.  We are to keep the law of God even today.

I personally do not understand why people do not want to keep the commandments of God.  This world as we know it was framed by the word of God.  Therefore, those who keep God’s commandments are in line with nature.  Good things only are in store for those who keep God’s commandments.  We find protection in the commandments of God, protection from poverty, protection from destruction, and most importantly protection from sickness and death.

Those who teach that one is not to obey God’s commandments are under the curse of God.  Those who are contrary to God’s commandments remain under a curse.  If there remains any doubt in any, let him read again Deuteronomy chapter 28.  This chapter outlines the curses that will come to those who break the commandments of God.  To mine own amazement, I have found most of the curses in this book to ring true in my own life.  I thank God that he has given me grace to believe and obey his commandments that I no longer find myself under the curse of the law.

God bless.
